Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.
"The Electric Park Brake (EPB) Development Engineer will be required to:
Support the EPB Subject Matter Expert in EPB development and validation.
Contribute to the development of Failure Mode Effects Analysis for the EPB system.
Contribute to the development of system requirements.
Deliver the EPB validation plans using vehicle and laboratory based testing involving Hardware in the loop (HiL) & Software in the loop (SiL) facilities
Support delivery of virtual development and validation processes.
Request vehicles, components and systems to support EPB development and validation
Communicate the results of park brake development and validation to vehicle and system stakeholders"
3 KEY SKILLS Degree or equivalent experience in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering PG3 (Or industry equivalent) test driving licence and appropriate driving experience. Experience developing and validating automotive Control systems
Experience Required: Experience of automotive chassis engineering - in an OEM or First Tier supplier environment Experience of analysing complex control system data Project management skills - demonstrated by a track record of planning and delivering projects. Excellent team-working, organisation and communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision. Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure and beyond normal working hours when required.
Experience Preferred: Experience in using complex data analysis tools such as Bosch MM6, Continental DAS or similar Experience in the use of Simulation tools e.g Carmaker, MATLAB, Simulink Experience in the application of HiL and / or SiL for system validation Vehicle Dynamics or braking system test and development experience. Experience in the use of IBM Rational DOORS or a similar Requirements Management Tools.
Additional Information : The role is based at Gaydon. Travel to other sites and to suppliers generally within the UK - will be required
