The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:

This is a engineering role responsible for the analysis and root cause of complex systematic electrical problems. By working closely with vehicle technicians and UPS Test engineers the anaylsis engineer will be expected to diagnose complex network issues regarding CAN systems and ECU coding/ configuration problems. Clear analysis and problem solving skills are essential to enable a logistical approach to whole Vehicle Electrical architecutre issues using a wide range of both production and pre production diagnostc skills & equipmnet including CANoe etc.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Maximum of 5 relating to products, services etc.)

1. Analysis of Networking and Electrical Architectural Problems – Responsible for the identification and fix of complex electrical issue, interfacing with technicians and test engineers to ensure correct vehicle repair and both pre-series and series test sequence validation
2. Whole Vehicle Electrical Knowledge – Ownership for a vehicle network with respect to production planning support of test sequences and vehicle repair. Key Root Cause analysis, data capture and feedback skills required
3. General Operation/Core System Architecture inc IT inc interfaces – Understands how all systems interact and their architecture including Prodis systems, wireless MFT’s UPS server/ architecture, IP addresses etc. Ensuring the interfaces to FIS channels, online FIS channels, WAM, Rolling Road, Fluid Fill, ICS are supported.

4. Analytical Output – Responsible for the tracking of all related issues to ensure knowledge share and data recoding. Must take ownership for all related issues/ concerns to ensure functional/ system understanding & support for technicians and UPS engineers

Good general working knowledge of part design, manufacture & assembly for Electrical EDS (Design for Manufacture & Assembly).
Proven experience working within automotive manufacturing or design environment
Logical approach to problem identification and solving
Computer literate with good technical skills (Appreciation of computer programming & sw packages, i.e. SQL database)
Knowledge and understanding of Electrical rectification tooling and software (VAS Tools, ODISE/S, CPTool.
Proven track record of working with vehicle CANBus systems (Lin, MOST, Flexray) including repair methods.
Extensive experience of Electrical diagnostic repair techniques and methodology.
Ability to process supporting diagnostic repair documentation including:
Shaltplans/ Wiring Harness Drawings/ Fusing Layouts/
Workshop configuration/set-up routines

Knowledge of production control systems.
Knowledge of UPS test systems.
Electrical harness/ Schaltplan knowledge
Knowledge of production test equipment (including workshop equipment VAS, Diagra, CANalyser, CANoE),
• Good working knowledge of Electrical production test facilities & test routines.
• Experience of Electrical/Mechanical fault finding and repair methods including:
o Test Field experience
o Wheel Alignment
o Rolling Road etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of set-up and calibration procedures (Production and Work Shop) and fault diagnosis and repair methodology for Driver Assistance Systems including:
o Heads Up Display
o Top View
o Night Vision
Lane Departure etc.

HND/Degree in Electrical or IT related subject
