The Role:
The Electrical Construction Lead has primary responsibility for effectively executing projects in the field that enhance refinery assets. This position supervises multiple projects in the field that can be implemented through work orders or bid construction contracts. As the leader of assigned construction teams, the Electrical Construction Lead assures that safety, quality, cost, time, and performance requirements are met so these assets are safe, environmentally sound, operable, reliable and maintainable.

Accountabilities Include:
• Understand relevant Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) regulations, policies and procedures applicable to the design and construction of projects.
• Actively participate in health, safety and environmental performance and awareness to achieve our goals of no accidents, no harm to people and no harm to the environment. Investigate accidents and near-misses. Prepare, conduct, or otherwise ensure completion of regular safety meetings with contractors. Promote maintenance of a clean, safe work site and ensures adequate housekeeping.
• Primary interface to ensure that acceptable quality control is maintained throughout the project. Responsibilities include monitoring of materials, supplies and work practices to maintain adherence to the Client’s practices and Plant standards.
• Lead the permitting, construction, commissioning, and startup for assigned projects. Support good decision making and project execution.
• Act as the primary interface with Electrical Contractors and be responsible for all communication, QA/QC, reviews, and issue resolution. Proactively work with relevant departments to take corrective action and achieve mutually agreeable solutions to problems.
• Work with the Project Controls Group as required to operate an effective project control system that accurately measures, monitors, and reports progress against key performance indicators.
• Work collaboratively with Project Engineering to utilize appropriate technical resources for installation support. Ensure that all new equipment meets the goals of safe operations and long-term reliability and maintainability.
• Oversee and mentor Electrical Contractors in a culture which fosters teamwork, professionalism, safety, and high integrity.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant electrical construction experience is required or High School degree and a minimum of 15 years of relevant electrical construction experience is required
• Downstream experience required (Petrochemical, plant, refinery)
• Knowledge of electrical construction installation practices and codes. Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices. Ability to lead and implement inherent safety into projects.
• Ability to interact, direct, influence, and coach Electrical Contractors.
• Knowledge about a broad range of industrial equipment and associated construction and maintenance methods.
• Familiarity with industry design and construction
• Demonstrated capability for delivering high-quality projects.
• Candidates local to Corpus Christi, TX preferred
