The Company:
My Client is a specialist Nuclear and Defence Company who employs around 4,500 staff and over 2,000 contractors, whose work covers a vast range of disciplines. They employ scientists, engineers, technicians, crafts-people and safety specialists, as well as business and administrative experts.

The Role:
As an EC&I Engineer you will be a full and proactive member of a team that provides multi-discipline Engineering Solutions. Your specific remit will be to provide the through life EC&I Engineering content of Engineering Solutions from problem definition through design, manufacture, works test, Installation, commission, site acceptance testing and culminating in Project Closure.

As an EC&I Engineer you will contribute toward and / or take responsibility for elements and interfaces of the EC&I Engineering Solution of each FEL Gate e.g
- Understand and contribute to:
i. Reconciliation of Requirements
ii. Problem Definition
iii. The structured creative process to select a preferred Option
iv. Process Engineers Defined Safe Process
v. Working to Safety Function Requirements (SFRs)
- Working from Requirements, a selected Option, Defined Safe Process and strategy:
vi. Produce the EC&I design elements of the Engineering Solution
vii. Ensure the EC&I design elements integrate with all other disciple elements of the Engineering Solution
- Contributing to HAZID, HAZOP-I and HAZOP-II processes

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As a Process Engineer you will have:
- Degree or equivalent in E C & I Engineering; or other Technical discipline if supporting knowledge and experience supports required expertise and intended areas of work
- Chartered status preferred

Good working knowledge of:
- Electrical Control & Instrumentation engineering
- Safety Systems to BS En 61508 et al
- Control Systems and philosophies
- Process instrumentation
- Equipment selection and specification

General understanding of:
- Nuclear and Conventional Safety
- Process Engineering
- Programming and Software
- EMC Emissions and Immunities
- Mechanical engineering systems
- Hazardous Area Classification
