The Role:
Purpose:
• To provide Electrical Discipline Engineering support for development and execution of projects within Qatar and possibly to the wider MENA region. The Electrical Design Engineer will work within a project team environment to deliver safe, reliable and cost effective facilities.
• The Electrical Design Engineer will, for the projects assigned to him, have full ownership and responsibility for the development and delivery of the electrical engineering scope in accordance with required standards and specification, in order to achieve a flawless start-up of projects and ultimately achieve high plant availability.
- In doing this the incumbent will manage the delivery of the relevant discipline engineering scope carried out by the engineering contractors executing the design work.
• Provide discipline engineering input into multiple projects during “define” and “execute phases”, and become the responsible TA3 engineer.


Duties/Accountabilities:
• Managing and Supervising the Instrumentation / PACO construction activities of the overall construction scope.
• Delivery of the electrical engineering scope for assigned projects, ensuring “flawless start-up” of electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure project delivery is carried out in compliance with agreed HSSE practices and procedures as defined under the HSSE management system.
• Preparation of scopes of work for the engineering contractor for the electrical engineering discipline.
• Act as company discipline focal point towards the engineering services contractor for the electrical engineering discipline.
• Be fully familiar with applicable electrical engineering and construction standards and specifications applicable to the assigned projects.
• When execution of plant changes is carried out ensure this is done in strict compliance with the asset Management of Change process.
• Review of engineering deliverables from the engineering contractor regarding electrical engineering discipline, ranging from engineering study deliverables to RFC packages, commissioning procedures, ITPs, etc.
• Drive technical assurance: Assure engineering and construction of electrical engineering discipline scope is carried out in compliance with required project standards and specifications, including DEM1 and DEM2 compliance.
• Participation in engineering reviews regarding electrical engineering discipline.
• Witnessing of Fabrication Acceptance Tests, as required.
• Provide timely clarification and response to technical queries from the engineering and construction contractors.
• Participate in safety and quality audits and field reviews as required.
• Pro active support the installation quality, working with the Construction team.
• Provide technical support for commissioning/startup of electrical systems.
• Manage project close out for own discipline ensuring all As Builts, databases and system (e.g. SAP) have been updated prior to hand-over of a project to Operations.
• Building and maintaining good relationship with the Asset Engineering team (electrical discipline), who is responsible for maintaining discipline engineering standards and management systems within the project. Incumbent must ensure compliance of projects design with these latest standards.
• Provide support for the team, e.g. contribute to the development of work tools or procedures for the projects organization as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
• University degree in Electrical Engineering.

Required Experience:
• At least 10 years proven experience in electrical design engineering in the Petrochemical industry.
• Experience in troubleshooting and analysis of equipment and system performance.
• Experience with guiding/training staff
