The Company:
Consultancy specializing in oil and gas project management. With have extensive experience controlling all aspects of large scale projects.

20 Hours per week part time, further hour may be available as work load ramps up.

The Role:
Currently looking for an Electrical Drafter to join a mid size engineering consultancy on a part time basis. This position is responsible for maintaining, developing, and/or updating facility piping, mechanical, electrical, instrument, civil and structural drawings and data and is also responsible for assisting engineering and operations in complying with Design and Drafting processes, standards, and guidelines and leads field investigations and facility as-built walk-downs to develop, update and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), Facility Plot Plans, Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams, Emergency Operating Procedure drawings, Cause and Effect Matrixes and other drawings that may be required.

As an Electrical Drafter your main duties will involve:
• You’ll perform highly specialized drafting/designing assignments of an advanced and complex nature. You’ll be highly proficient with AutoCAD programs required to perform drafting/design. Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of oil and gas related facility design and drafting practices/standards, engineering principles, process safety, and building and construction.
• Responsible for providing technical support, designs, and drawings for complex projects
• Prepares working plans and detail drawings according to standards and specifications
• Develops and maintains facility drawings for Plants, Stations, and above ground appurtenances in support Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Tactical, and as necessary Engineering & Construction (E&C) projects ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
• Ensures accurate, timely, and efficient design and delivery of drawings These drawings and documents include Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), Facility Plot Plans, Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams, Schematics, Emergency Operating Procedure drawings, Cause and Effect Matrixes, Relief System Design data, and other drawings that may be required
• Review and verify that plans and design drawings conform to applicable codes, standards, specifications and project requirements
• Supports the integration of Facility Drawings and Documentation from E&C projects into the Electronic Drawing Management System and check in & out drawings being enhanced to ensure proper versioning/quality control
• Assists Project Managers and Engineers with new projects by providing technical design support, drafting support or coordination of design and drafting with outside contractors and ensures delivery of “contractor packages” that include applicable facility design and drafting standards, processes, procedures, templates, libraries, tools, and examples to be utilized for E&C, Tactical, and O&M Enhancement projects

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As an Electrical Drafter you will have experience:
• Associate of Applied Science degree in Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent experience
• experience in the energy or chemical industry with verifiable and relative engineering design experience
• Experience working for an oil and gas, pipeline or midstream owner / operating company is required
• Proven track record of successfully executing design projects within scope, schedule, and budget
• Knowledge of the operational & field environment for work practices and conditions, in process plants, gathering systems, pipelines, and chemical plants
• Knowledge of sound engineering principles as they apply to design, construction and operations of Plants, Stations and other facilities
• Thorough design and drafting knowledge and ability in one of the following areas; Piping, Electrical or Instrumentation Design and a working knowledge in the remaining two disciplines
