The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Chassis Electronics are looking for an experienced and highly motivated project manager / software systems engineer to manage in house software build activities and the release of in-house software and control systems to the vehicle programmes. This will involve regular reporting to Functional Group Leader and liaison with programme Module Leader, Electrical\Chassis System Owners and system integration team, and running internal team meetings. The Chassis Electronics department supports Chassis Engineering, providing electronic systems design and development expertise for features such as ABS, DSC, EPB, ACC, and VDS. Within Chassis Electronics, the Vehicle Dynamic Systems team are responsible for developing and delivering in-house control software for a range of systems including suspension, damping, driveline controls and Terrain Response. Tasks Include: Interact with the Electrical Programmes group to establish timescales and deliverables Working with the system and controls engineers and local and offshore software build teams to ensure timely delivery of software and hardware requirements, test plans and releases according to gateways Defines appropriate organisation and process for the project reviews (meeting structure , agenda, attendees) including Supplier, Finance, purchasing and Manufacturing representation. Understanding the JLR Product Creation System delivery process for vehicle programme delivery. Co-ordination of release activities with the ECU supplier and internal customers (chassis) Creating and managing commodity plans for: Requirements delivery Hardware and Software Releases Functional integration plans, including (Labcar and Vehicle Build MRDs) Meeting Engineering Sign Off dates Part Submission Warrants (PSW) Manage timely investigation and closure of problems including appropriate escalation of issues Support process improvement and compliance activities for in-house software delivery process

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Highly motivated and self-starting individual with effective leadership skills. Strong organisational, project management and communication skills essential
Knowledge of software development and integration processes throughout the lifecycle
Thorough understanding of system engineering principles throughout the 'V' delivery cycle
MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
MS Project or similar project management tools
UK driving license
Understanding of vehicle network and diagnostics systems and principals
Degree preferred
Degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive / Aerospace engineering or similar subject, or equivalent industry experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience in the automotive industry preferred, including project management , release, and validation / sign-off activities
Knowledge of systems and processes advantageous but not essential
