The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Function Development Engineer with a strong Systems Engineering background
The role will report to the Group Leader, Stability Control Systems (SCS)
Functions to contribute to the design, development and application of specific software control functions for all vehicles.
This role will involve the testing & development of systems in various locations within the UK & overseas.
Supporting the creation of technical specifications, development plans etc.
Sign off of systems and creation of sign off reports.
Liaison with other process partners including Design, Purchase & Project Management Team

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Control systems engineering
Software development probably in an automotive environment
An understanding of vehicles dynamics
Strong team player able to adapt into a multi-disciplinary environment
Minimum full driving licence to UK Cat B Key Word Search Criteria: Control systems engineering Software development.
Self-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision.
Excellent communication skills.
Flexible approach and able to work away from home and beyond normal hours when required.
Degree in Engineering with significant Systems Engineering content

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Advanced high dynamic driving
Experience in high performance driving - possibly in a motor sports environment
Post graduate experience in a similar role in an automotive or control systems environment
Experience in Matlab/Simulink and a willingness to learn other CAE packages
Automotive or Mechanical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering first or second degree
