The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This position is for a User Controls Component Engineer. User controls are a department within JLR¿S Electrical Engineering area and are responsible for delivering HMI devices. These include electro - mechanical devices, HMI software and electronics. Examples include, but not limited to integrated audio and HVAC control panels, electronic transmission selector modules, column and steering wheel mounted switches, cabin switches. The section is a critical contributor in delivering the vehicle interior design, and perceived quality attributes as well as delivering all the functional and electrical requirements. The role of the component engineer is to develop these components from concept through to full production

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following skills/qualifications:
Demonstrable leadership skills.
Demonstrable technical delivery experience.
Good Project Management skills.
High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Able to communicate confidently at all levels within the business and the supply base.
Understanding of material, paint process and Design / HMI attribute aspects.
Confident in the application of GPDS, DVP and Gateway disciplines.
Confident in the application of quality and reliability disciplines, particularly FMEA.
Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure.
Good PC skills and must be IT literate. Applicants should have a full, current driving licence and be able to travel in the UK and abroad for short-tern business assignments.
Minimum of 5 years automotive component delivery within an OEM or supplier to the Automotive Industry is highly desirable.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Good Understanding of CADD Electronic Engineering experience Implementation / Development and validation of component / system software experience
A working knowledge of JLR engineering disciplines (RMDV, WERS, AIMS, GTDS, GPDS, and APQP etc.).
