The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role is based within the Driver Assistance. Vision Systems team in Electrical Engineering. The Vision Systems Team develops and delivers driver assistance systems and features based on video technologies such as Rear View, Junction Views, Cross Traffic Alert, 360 degree Plan View, Trailer video monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Automatic High Beam control, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Limiter. This system engineering position will be within a team coordinated by a Lead System Engineer and will own / contribute to to the following engineering tasks and deliverables System and functional requirements / STJLR System and functional verification methods / TPJLR Functional allocation Contribution to the Feature Statement of Intent definition P-Diagrams & Robustness Check List System Boundary Diagrams System Design FMEA Diagnostic requirements Functional Safety Analysis according to ISO26262 Control algorithms design, modelling and simulation Competitors benchmarking Technical reviews with Tier1 and Tier2 suppliers Vehicle/system design validation and test reports Issue identification, investigation and resolution.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills from either a control systems or electrical background may be appropriate to this role. However the right candidate will have a thorough, broad based understanding of automotive systems. A particular knowledge of driver assistance systems, chassis control systems, advanced external lighting systems, powertrain control systems is desirable. The successful applicant will need the following skills and qualifications: Experience in Automotive Engineering Experience in Driver Assistance Systems or comparable complex / safety relevant systems Experience with tools such as Doors, MatLab/Simulink, CANalyser, CANoe Experience with Model Based Engineering and SysML Strong oral and written communication & IT skills Highly disciplined, analytical and self-committed. Driven by passion for the automotive product Understanding of Quality methods, Failure Mode Avoidance and robustness.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
PhD or equivalent
Good understanding of PCS and JLR design and delivery processes.
Previous experience with JLR Product Development standards
