The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Driver Assistance Cameras component engineer. This role works alongside the existing cameras team taking responsibility for the component engineering design and verification activities, for automotive cameras systems that implements multiple ADAS features.
The responsibilities include:
- Definition and maintenance of the component technical specifications (Hw and Sw)
- Definition of the component design validation plan (DVP)
- Component integration into the vehicle (Mechanical and Electrical integration)
- Supervise/Validate the component FMEAs and Quality reviews
- Supervising the supplier component development and testing according to the JLR standards
- Conduct and support vehicle upgrade activities, Manufacturing support, troubleshooting and diagnostics
- System integration, system testing, assessessment of the performance and functionality vs specifications
- Continuously improving the accuracy and coverage of engineering methods
- Test/sign-off reports generated documenting results
- Issue identification, investigation and escalation.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in the component engineering in the automotive sector.
- Contribute to team working activities and suppliers activities
- Experience in the integration of complex automotive components (mechanical and electrical integration)
- Conduct and support vehicle/system/component testing and generating test reports. Issue identification, investigation and escalation.
- Beng/Msc or PHD on Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
- Ideally experience in the development of cameras and ADAS systems
- Familiar with tools such as MatLab/Simulink, CANalyser and other test tools
- Familiar with CAD data management
- Desirable Good communication, interpersonal skills, self confidence and a 'passion for the product' are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
- Applicants will have experience in automotive component engineering
- Experience with vehicle test tools e.g.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience of Jaguar/Landrover processes and methods (e.g. GRADE, AIMS, CAD)
- To be conversant in CANalyser and/or other Vectors tools
- To be conversant in Catia and/or other CAD tools
- Experience with vehicle mechanical integration of electronics components
