The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Network hardware and high speed communication link specialist. Responsible for defining ECU hardware platform and network physical layer requirements. The scope of these requirements include network transceiver devices and integration, power supply and hardware architecture to support robust network operation and low sleep current, hardware function partitioning to minimise power consumption while awake on the network, microcontroller requirements, hardware package and PCB design rules for high frequency data lines, data transmission line requirements. Role will involve developing and evaluating concepts, and defining the standards and validation procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Detailed technical knowledge of high speed data communication physical layer design, including Transceiver devices, microcontroller and power supply requirements, PCB design, cables and connectors Electrical hardware architecture design , ECU power supply design, ECU load management, microcontroller selection. Detailed understanding of EMC requirements, measurement, designing to meet those requirements.
ECU hardware design experience, defining the hardware architecture and choosing components to meet performance requirements. High frequency design. High speed data link design. Proven experience of operating in cross industry working groups, and of effective communication with technical peers and senior management. Presenting complex technical concepts in an understandable way to a varied audience.
Educated to degree level in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Systems Engineering Detailed technical knowledge of high speed data communication protocols for topics including video transmission Knowledge of functional safety processes. Technical knowledge and understanding of the clients networks and ""EuCD"" electrical architecture.
LVDS, APIX, GMSL, USB, MOST, Ethernet, Flexray Full end to end ownership of high speed data communication links.
