The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Development of the xEV traction battery electrical electronics and software for the xEV project. Key tasks for the team include:
- Support the Project Team Leader in programme delivery and supplier management.
- Requirements definition, including capturing and agreeing cascaded requirements from the industry, vehicle attributes and systems teams.
- Work with the tier 1 supplier partner in the development of the xEV battery functionality according to programme technical, cost and timing targets.
- Support the develop a commodity (including software) development plan of the xEV battery system.
- Complete the quality deliverables, including boundary diagram, FMEA, quality history reviews, robustness checklist and derive critical design and manufacturing actions from them.
- Develop relevant battery systems engineering standards based on lessons learnt, best practice and industry knowledge.
- Complete the hazard analysis and support the functional safety analysis.
- Support the report out project status to project leaders and senior managements at key milestones

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Electrical/Electronic AND/OR Embedded software development skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to resolve technical and process issues within a Project Team environment.
- Robust component engineering development knowledge
- Problem investigation and Problem solving skills.
- Confident communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work within a team.
Proven track record of developing complex electrical/electronics systems (hardware or embedded software) from product development to mass production.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The following skills would be an advantage: Strong appreciation of vehicle systems and architectures.
Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering Skills. 6 Sigma green belt or black belt experience. CANalyser/Canape operation skills.
Experience in delivery to JLR or Ford GTDS and/or GPDS processes.
Experience in component engineering for automotive applcation with electrical/electronics or software background.
