The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Design and validation engineer working in the infotainment department. Will own the technical feature content of a specific infotainment module. This will be in a specific technical area such as SDARS or DAB. You will be responsible for developing the technical specification and working with suppliers to provide a technical solution. This will further expand the core skills available to the infotainment team providing valuable design input into JLR's future product design. - Liaison with the other tuner and antenna teams and broadcast reception owners to coordinate test activities and issues resolution. - Contributing to the cross-functional activities that support the system deliverables and sign-off of RF reception. - Co-ordinate Design and component validation work to produce acceptable packages and installations that meet vehicle and system targets. - Contributing to the resolution of reception issues (AIMS and/or e-trackers), involving other areas as required, e.g. EMC, Antennas, Packaging, other Electrical teams, Manufacturing, Purchasing, STA

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineers with experience in infotainment / car entertainement systems, television transmission standards and technology, mobile phone, wifi or RF broadcast including FM and DAB, Audio, would be of special interest. Prior knowledge of automotive systems and processes are prefered but not essential for this role. Supplier and project management skills will be advantageous in this role Knowledge of electronics systems design and packaging is ideal, experience of project management of complex systems through to implementation, able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical issues within a team environment, excellent communication & interpersonal skills, self-confidence and the ability to operate with minimum supervision, development of electrical system features experience desirable.
Infotainment covers a wide range of current technology, experience in broadcast technology and standards or automotive infotainment systems is an essential knowledge base for this role.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of automotive electronics is desired, CAN, MOST, LIN, Ethernet is desirable but not essential for the role.
Experience in the automotive industry is prefered
Circa 5 years previous experience in area required
