The Company:
Our Client, an Iron Ore Joint Venture, is a partnership between global business leaders; working with a major Iron Ore Operator on its multi-billion dollar growth plans in Western Australia.

The Role:
Our Client's Port team is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for immediate start on our Port Hedland Inner Harbour Project.

In this position you will provide high level technical support and some supervision in relation to design and engineering services for electrical/controls and instrumentation engineering projects including earthworks, roads, dams, drainage, water supply and buildings.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

§ Identify the requirements for electrical engineering input into procurement and construction contract packages

§ Ensure all electrical/controls engineering and instrumentation project work complies with statutory and regulaory requirements and company policies and practices.

§ Prepare schedules for design work and allocate physical and human resources to enable electrical/controls engineering projects to be completed on time and within budget.

§ Monitor progress and initiating remedial action where required to ensure electrical/controls engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.

§ Provide high level technical support for all electrical/controls engineering project work as required.

§ Supervise preparation of preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all electrical/controls engineering project work and ensure project work complies with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works.

§ Supervise preparation of documentation for standards, procedures, safe working practices and monitor regimes in respect of work on or around electrical/controls engineering projects.

§ Liaise with other department engineers and draftspersons to ensure project goals are met.

§ Provide input to the electrical/controls engineering budget and address any variances from budget

§ Participate in technical reviews of all procurement and construction contract packages.

§ Provide progress monitoring and reporting as required

§ Undertake scope control and trending of scope changes as needed

§ Undertake engineering support for the contracts

§ Meet assigned dates for engineering deliverables

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
§ Ability to undertake design and engineering of concepts

§ Understanding equipment application

§ Ability to think analytically and logically

§ Ability to communicate with peers, senior management & the client

§ Ability to assess project risks and understand associated contingencies

§ Ability to form & foster collaborative relationships within the business and externally

§ Understanding of and ability to follow Company & Client policies and procedures

§ Ability to impart skills and train others

§ Strong organisational skills

§ Ability to delegate tasks and communicate

§ Understanding HSE regulations and standards

§ Ability to implement cost control measures

§ Tertiary Electrical/controls engineering qualifications

§ Experience on EPCM and an understanding of the culture and goals
