The Company:
Our client, a major oil company with operations in Canada and internationally. This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering Lead, the Electrical Engineer provides primary technical support for the clients FPSO and is accountable for providing and supporting engineering designs for new projects and plant alterations.

accountabilities are to:
• Provide technical support on electrical issues to the client’s FPSO Operations
• Answer Technical Queries regarding electrical equipment and systems on the clients FPSO
• Responsible for the clients electrical discipline design documents
• Provides electrical system support to clients FPSO improvement initiatives and modifications
• Maintain and write planned maintenance routines, critical procedures and practices for clients FPSO electrical equipment
• Ensure compliance with the clients maintenance strategies
• Ensure compliance with the clients performance monitoring requirements
• Prepare monthly reports on electrical safety and environmentally critical elements
• Assist in the resolution of electrical material quality assurance, quality control and certification issues for the clients FPSO
• Create and update material masters for electrical equipment, materials and components for the clients FPSO
• Create and update bills of materials for electrical equipment on the clients FPSO
• Responsible for the clients FPSO electrical discipline data
• Support the other clients teams as required on electrical issues
• Initiate and support Change Requests to facilitate modifications to the FPSO electrical system
• Supervise, assign work to, and check the work of, electrical consultants, contractors, and students working on the clients issues
• Initiate and support electrical safety programs, initiatives, facilities and training on the clients FPSO
• Ensure regulatory compliance of the clients FPSO’s electrical systems
• Provide input to the annual budget and quarterly updates
• Act as technical representative for contracts for the supply of services for electrical equipment on the the clients FPSO
• Initiate, manage, revise and verify contract call outs
• Plan, organize and carry out complex and advanced technical studies on the clients FPSO electrical system
• Supervise implementation of offshore projects
• Participate as part of the Emergency Response Team supporting the clients FPSO.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience and knowledge of electrical safety, switchgear and motor control centres, wiring methods, low voltage equipment, electrical controls, protection and coordination, power generation and power management, motors and transformers, power electronics, hazardous locations, electrical standards and regulations and project management
• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent knowledge/experience with 5-15 years of experience in the petrochemical industry
• Experience with ETAP power system software.
• Experience with SAP.

• Strong communication skills (written, oral and computer).
• Ability to supervise a diverse team of individuals.
• Results driven.
