The Role:
Electrical Discipline Consultant

The position reports to the Tengizchevroil Coordinator

The candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience with electrical equipment within large hydrocarbon process facilities with knowledge and experience in the assembly, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical equipment. The candidate should have knowledge and experience of electrical issues within operational maintenance environments. The candidate will be based in Tengiz, Kazakhstan and work a 28 day rotational assignment. Some specific elements of experience the candidate is required to have are:

• Good English Skills.
• 10 years experience of electrical maintenance and/or engineering experience in large hydrocarbon facilities.
• Basic Knowledge of processes used to determine equipment maintenance plans such as RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) philosophies (preferred).
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to communicate with cross-functional disciplines.
• Ability to listen and understand others.
• Planning and organizing.
• Produce quality written turnover notes, reports and be communicative in meetings.
• Possession of team skills and interaction skills are essential.
• Experience in some of the following electrical areas is desirable;

o Switchyards
o Sub Stations
o UPS Systems
o Electric Drives
o Generators
o Transformers
o Infra-red Technology
o Power Management Systems
o Variable Speed Drives
o Electrical Control and Power Distribution Systems
o Cathodic Protection & Heat Tracing Systems

• Understands and can incorporate Process Safety Management (PSM) elements into the daily plans and activities

Position Description:


The Electrical Discipline Consultant is responsible for participation in a range of activities that are primarily electrically based. The Electrical Discipline Consultant must be technologically prepared to give advice on all electrical equipment and if required, contact other knowledgeable individuals for additional information and guidance.

They will ensure compliance with all company and governmental safety instructions, policies and regulations. They need to be familiar with industry safety programs that encompass the protection of people and the environment. A good understanding of health and safety at work policies nominally found in the Oil and Gas industry.

Essential Position Functions:

• Review of maintenance tasks derived from RCM Studies for accuracy, completeness and conversion to Model Work orders.
