The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
The Electrical Engineer stewards all phases of electrical systems engineering for the In Province modules – Drilling Support Module (DSM) & Drilling Equipment Set (DES), Living Quarters, flare, helideck and lifeboat stations. He/she ensures that the Project's requirements, as detailed in the Technical Specifications and Standard Details, for all electrical engineering are met in accordance with the schedule. He/she stewards electrical engineering aspects of the Project with other discipline leads on the Client's Project, as necessary, and stewards the interfaces among EPC contractor's organization with respect to electrical engineering and design.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Review, evaluate, advise, and prepare comments on EPC Contractor's design deliverables and activities as assigned in the Engineering Surveillance Plan with overall objective of achieving correctness/accuracy, compliance, and ease of operability in the final design and delivered equipment:

- Electrical specifications, Electrical One Lines, Electrical Schematics
- Compliance with design methods and safety factors to be used in design of project
- Technical bid tabulations and award recommendations for Electrical equipment and bulks
- Shop tests and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), protocols and the events themselves

• Steward the EPC contractor's activities with respect to Electrical including:
- Review of drawings and other deliverables as required for inter-discipline design coordination
- Measurement and reporting of physical progress
- Selection, specification, and inspection of Electrical components
- Procurement of Electrical related tagged items and bulks including assisting with pre-qualification of potential suppliers, preparation of specifications, bid clarifications, bid evaluations and tabulations, award recommendations, etc.
- Review of vendor data for completeness as required for Electrical design and compliance with project specifications
- Development of field installation plans and maintenance procedures for equipment
- I&C estimates for weight control report

• Assist with resolution of Technical Queries, Specification Deviation Requests, and Change Proposals, MOCs
• Participate in Electrical related action items arising from HAZOP, Design Risk Assessment, and other design reviews and ensure timely resolution of actions
• Support FATs, fabrication and commissioning activities as needed

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 10+ years in oil gas industry.
- Strong preference for Drilling and offshore platform experience.
- Strong preference for prior experience on client project management team representing oil & gas client
