The Role:
Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the design is in accordance with specifications. Monitor the electrical design through the engineering phases of the project to ensure that the company standards for safety and operability are met, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards for electrical operation and engineering.

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all electrical system design (new facilities and modification) are in compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
• Review the development of the electrical premise and design to ensure that the design is safe, operable and efficient.
• Review engineering drawings and relevant documents prepared by the design contractor.
• Monitor performance of the design contractor’s electrical design team.
• Provide engineering support and data of existing facilities to design contractor.
• Participate in the development of operation, maintenance and start-up philosophies and plans.
• Participate in the project risk management process.
• Report technical deviations.
• Process and follow up technical queries from contractors and Operations.
• Attend inter-discipline technical meetings.
• Attend technical audits as requested by Management.
• Coordinate communication with Operations regarding electrical and automation / operational issues.
• Participate in relevant Factory Acceptance tests (FAT).
• Ensure all Electrical project activities are performed in accordance with the COP procedures for work on electrical systems on the plant.
• Actively support other disciplines to ensure interdisciplinary coherence and experience transfer.
• Participate in HAZID and HAZOP meetings as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer / Engineer in Electrical Engineering (BSc)
Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience.

Minimum 5 to 10 years project experience from upstream or refinery modification projects. Understanding of operational and maintenance requirements with regard to onshore design.
