The Company:
A major oil and gas operator is seeking an electrical engineer to work on a world scale project

The Role:
-Coordinate multiple electrical inspection efforts on 60+ purchase orders and subcontracts located around the world and valued at over a billion dollars. Packages range from small pump skids to large 40MW Gas Turbine Compressor modules.
-Position will serve as a Company representative in the EPC Contractor's office and will report to the staff Lead Electrical Engineer.
-Candidate is to ensure elected EPC Contractor is meeting Australian requirements for inspection and documentation regarding electrical equipment installed in hazardous areas.
-Candidate will be in charge of organizing an inspection/coordination team to complete this audit and assurance role.
-Position will include travel to various vendor shops for periodic inspection and coordination efforts.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degreed Electrical Engineer or Experienced Electrical Tradesman
Preferred candidate would have 10-20 years experience in an oil and gas production or refining environment. Experience with design and installation of electrical or instrumentation systems in the Oil and Gas Industry. Working experience with Australian Standards as they govern electrical installations in hazardous areas is a requirement. Knowledge of Australia’s EEHA requirements is a must.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
-Experience with IEC or Australian Standards governing electrical equipment installations, specifically in hazardous areas, would be advantageous.
-AS 3000 Electrical Installations
-IEC 60079 or AS 60079 Explosive atmospheres - Equipment - General requirements • IEC 60079.14 or AS 60079.14 Explosive atmospheres - Electrical installations design, selection and erection • AS4761.1 Competencies for working with electrical equipment for hazardous areas (EEHA)
-QA/QC/Inspection Scheduling and Coordination Planning Working knowledge of API RP 500 and API RP 505
-Australian Electrical Workers License a plus
-Australian EEHA Competence Certification for Inspection – Certified by an Australian Registered Training Organization (i.e. MOXI) a plus
