Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
My operator client has a current vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to provide a full time site engineering presence providing rapid response to technical issues, enabling trouble-free turnover and assuring asset integrity. The role is rotational 28 days on / 28 days off It is likely the incumbent will be required to be housed in Karratha accommodation and commute via air travel to Barrow site on a daily basis for the remainder of 2014.

Role and Responsibilities
• Member of a multi-functional, follow-on-support team responsible for site based engineering support relating to all electrical equipment for LNG plant.
• Ensures design intent is being correctly interpreted and facilities are built and installed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications and that applicable project safety and environmental instructions are being followed. Uses a Management of Change process as required to document changes
• Serve as day-to-day interface with KJVG construction groups, EPC contractor/craft labor during the Construction Phase, providing a focus on safety, quality, schedule and cost.
• Commits to and champions the development and implementation of a safe working environment for everyone on the project and the continuing establishment of an incident and injury free culture.
• Liaise as required with other groups i.e. Home Office Engineering – Perth, HESQ, Logistics, QA/QC, Construction, Completions and Commissioning, Contracts, et al. for day-to-day issues and support.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project colleagues and interfaces.
• Report to site engineering management with problems, options and suggested resolutions to site issues. Prepares the scope of work for site change notices.
• Demonstrates knowledge of applicable project and industry codes (NEC), standards and specifications related to the design and construction of the fixed equipment and power grid.
• Liaise with the Perth and London Engineering teams to understand the design and construction philosophies related to the electrical equipment and power distribution network for early infrastructure, utilities, and LNG Plant.
•Identify issues associated with meeting objectives and provide recommendations to overcome and gaps
• Respond to site queries, i.e. RFIs (Request for Information) requiring site visibility and interface in collaboration with the responsible technical interface (ATSM – Area Technical Services Manager).
• Performs basic calculations related to electrical load, load flow, and short circuit design.
• Review and comment ITRs (Inspect and Test Records)
• Review and comment ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans).
• Review of and contribution of technical input to NCRs (Non-Conformance Report).
• Respond to CRs (Concession Request) and coordinating with Home Office Engineering – Perth as needed.
• Development of Trends, PDNs (Project Deviation Notices), FTDs (Field Technical Deviations), TCNs (Technical Change Notification).
• Maintains data sheets, supplier drawings, and P&IDs.
• Review and “approve” test packs.
• Stay abreast of and occasionally developing TBs (Technical Bulletins).
• Conduct secondary technical inspections where directed.
• Technical consultancy on miscellaneous projects and studies (note: projects requiring design work will be referred to Home Office Engineering group)
• Assist with the facilitation of vendor service visits required to complete works
• Provide technical input to SIs (Site Instructions) as agreed case-by-case basis.Technical review of manufacturers’ documentation Provide technical input to vendor back charges,
• Participate in formal punch listing.
• Provide pre-commissioning/mechanical completion oversight/verification
• Apply CPDEP and Capital Stewardship principles to maintain effective communications and the free flow of information between work groups in order to assess and minimize the impact of Concession Requests, schedule changes, and technical interface queries / issues.
• Contribute to or develop DSPs (Decision Support Packages) to resolve technical challenges as agreed on a case-by-case basis.
