This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

Direction Exercised and Authority:

Receives general direction from Lead Electrical Engineer and is expected to demonstrate a high degree of personal initiative, sound judgment and technical and project deliver

The Role:
Purpose and Summary of Scope:

Working within an integrated Project Delivery Team, and with accountability residing with the Lead Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Engineer — Muskrat Falls Generation Site is responsible to work in support of the Lead Electrical Engineer to ensure the overall delivery of all electrical Engineering deliverables for the Muskrat Falls Generation site including scope, cost and schedule management. Responsibilities span from detailed engineering phase to the final completion of electrical works. The Electrical Engineer — Muskrat Falls Generation Site will provide design engineering and support throughout the development and execution phases (engineering, procurement and construction) of the Construction Camp and Ancillaries', Powerhouse, Intake, Dams and Spillway design process.

Principal Activities, Duties and Responsibilities:

In accordance with the Project Instructions, and as approved by the Lead Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Engineer — Muskrat Falls Generation Site has the responsibility and commensurate authority to accomplish the following duties:
• Advice the Lead Electrical Engineer on the requirements of electrical personnel to enable suitably qualified engineers, technicians and draftspersons to be provided for the design and support of the scopes of work assigned.;
• Prepare a list of engineering deliverables (coded by facility or work package) indicating the hours required per document, to permit the planning and control of the engineering budget and schedule;
• Prepare all technical documentation required for assigned duties, including, but not limited to;
• Arc flash and Protection Coordination Studies
• Equipment Specifications and Datasheets
• Construction and fabrication Drawings
• Purchase specifications and Purchase orders for equipment
• Value engineering studies
• General layout drawings
• Electrical Single Line diagrams
• Standard specifications
• Standard detail drawings
• Installation drawings
• Equipment lists
• Technical lists
• As-built drawings

Manage and coordinate the progress of the assigned electrical engineering work in accordance with the project scope, schedule and procedures.
• Review vendor documents and shop drawings to ensure conformity with engineering designs;
• Coordinate Company's response to vendor/site queries and concession requests in a timely manner to avoid schedule impact;
• Attend FAT's as required;
• Provide site specific inspection reports during surveillance activities at vendor fabrication facilities / sites / etc.;
• Interface with the suppliers / contractors to ensure that the installed facilities;
• Meet all Design, Safety, Quality, Schedule, Construction and Regulatory Requirements
• Meet Project Goals for Safety, Operability, Reliability and Environmental Performance

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
Graduate from a recognized university with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Must be a registered professional engineer, licensed to practice in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering field with an emphasis on experience in the hydroelectric industry sector.
• Experience in the design of low voltage distribution and auxiliary systems for hydroelectric powerhouses and control structures would be an asset.
• Experience in the design of medium voltage overhead distribution systems (construction power).
• Prior experience interfacing with and managing delivery of large scopes in a large project execution environment
Must possess proven electrical design skills combined with sound judgment and decision making skills
• Must be able to work effectively as a key member of the Project Delivery Team within a multi-functional team environment.
