The Company:
Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

The Role:
Drawing support from a multi-disciplinary team, an opportunity exists for an Electrical Engineer/Technician, to work within our office in Inchinnan and on-site at various positions throughout the world, to provide engineering/technical support to various Defence Submarine Escape and Rescue Services and wider Marine-focused customers.
In an exciting environment, and as part of an evolving team, your role will allow you to contribute significantly to the Defence business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Degree-qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or have
 Served a full Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship with extensive experience
 Knowledge of Electrical Systems used and operated in the underwater/marine domain
 Knowledge of Platform Management Systems including the comms interface
 Familiar with AutoCAD Electrical
 Knowledge of on-board power distribution systems, communication & video systems and sensors.
 Reviewing, selecting and integrating required underwater/marine subsystems.
 Aware of Safety and Quality issues with the ability to advise and enforce
 Be comfortable working independently on complex and varied problems
 At ease dealing directly with customers, suppliers and contractors
 Have good interpersonal skills
 Have good communication skills
 Focused on delivering to tight deadlines and specifications
 Capable of reacting to changes and willing to go the extra mile to deliver quality products
 Display a professional manner

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
 Familiar with international Quality and Safety standards (e.g. ISO 9001)
 Be familiar with working to marine and defence standards
 Subsea/offshore/defence background – 3 years plus experience
 Knowledge of PLC or PIC programming
 Previous experience of commercially sensitive projects and the security aspects this entails
 Be willing to travel and have a passport
 Full clean driving licence
 Security Clearance
