The Role:
Provides electrical technical/engineering inputs to studies, modifications and projects definition for offshore and onshore UK installations. Sample forthcoming activities include: -


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Ensure clear and concise Electrical or Multi Discipline scopes of work are produced, leading to site modifications improving safety/efficiency/reliability

MAIN ACTIVITIES:
•Perform role of Proponent Engineer and propose and justify modifications to equipment or to operating procedures to improve safety/efficiency/reliability of equipment.
•Ensure all modifications meet statutory and Company standards, adhere to the ‘Request for Modification’ Procedure and are correctly closed out.
•Act as the Operations and Technical Representative during the whole design process
•Prepare scopes of work for vendor services, make recommendations on preferred contractors and co-ordinate vendors, materials and equipment for planned and unplanned activities, monitoring and controlling manpower usage in liaison with site, logistics, planning, vendor/contractor performance and expenditure.
•Technically responsible for review and final approval of estimates, work scopes and modification documentation provided by the engineering design contractor.
•Responsible for input to the Engineering plan to ensure that all modifications are captured and progressed in a timely manner.
•Carry out routine review of Stream Cases (company database system to track integrity threats and improvement opportunities) and ensure that the status is regularly updated and prioritised
•Attend safety related meetings as a representative of Operations: Risk Assessment, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Assessment.
•Provide guidance and support to less experienced engineers within and without discipline team.
•Undertake analyses / studies of technical problems (long standing and recently identified), identify viable technical longer-term solutions and / or options in compliance with company and legislative standards and make recommendations to line / site management for approval.
•Investigate more complex problems by leading / participating in multi-discipline teams / projects in conjunction with other operations personnel / engineering team / engineering design contractors.
•Perform surveys on onshore and offshore sites for preparation of Scope of Work.
•Produce work packs to give direction to site personnel at all levels (technician to senior management) for implementation of technical solutions. Accountable for supervising the close-out and update of all associated documentation and planned maintenance.
•Possible research of available technologies - carrying out technical and commercial evaluation when purchasing required equipment.
•Develop and maintain good working relationships with site personnel through effective communication and by making regular visits to offshore installations and St Fergus terminal.
•Develop positive and constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers.
•Supports Technical Departments in identification, design, validation and implementation of selected engineered solution for the field, regardless of its sponsor (Projects or Field Operations through the modification control procedure).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Appropriate experience in oil and gas process/production
Good working knowledge of electrical legislation / regulations
Knowledge of TEP UK & Group standards relevant to discipline would be beneficial
Experience in electrical design and knowledge of basic cable and protection calculations
Good computer skills – technical, office, etc.
Knowledge of industry norms and specifications
Experience of working on an operational site
Valid offshore certification
