The Company:
Our Client is one of the world's largest Oil and Gas companies. Their operations cover the entire energy chain, including oil exploration and production to trading, shipping and refining and marketing of petroleum products, as well as chemicals. Our Client has operations in over 130 countries and has more than 95,000 employees worldwide.

The Role:
• Ensure clear and concise Electrical or Multi Discipline scopes of work are produced, leading to site modifications improving safety/efficiency/reliability.

• Provide specialist technical / engineering advice and guidance to sire/offshore personnel on the operation and maintenance of plant/equipment ensuring highest safety standards, a timely response to queries and minimal disruption to operations.
• Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and effective manner and that all interventions are controlled by authorised persons, satisfy statutory and Company standards and that no hazardous incidents or events occur.
• Undertake in-depth analyses/studies of problems and identify longer-term solutions and/or options. Investigate more complex problems by participating in multi-discipline teams/projects in conjunction with other operations personnel.
• Prepare scopes of work and economic justification for modifications ensuring they are correctly engineered, documented and reported and that all maintenance activities/modifications are implemented in accordance with statutory/Company standards and correctly closed-out.
• Prepare scopes of work for vendor services, make recommendations on preferred contractors and co-ordinate vendors, materials and equipment for planned and unplanned activities, monitoring and controlling manpower usage, vendor/contractor performance and expenditure. Participate, as appropriate, in vendor/contractor audits.

• Ensure maintenance activities are appropriately prioritised within operations maintenance plans.
• Participate in/contribute to safety studies/HAZOPS, etc.
• Encourage the reporting of all incidents, ensure that incidents are investigated and action incident close-outs as appropriate.
• Conduct ad-hoc technical surveys on site/offshore and at vendor/repair locations, providing detailed technical reports identifying problems and solutions and ensuring optimum performance from 3rd party contractors.
• Ensure all relevant operations and maintenance procedures and documentation are maintained in an accurate and current status and are available on request.
• Proactively monitor, review and analyse plant and equipment performance and provide feedback to Line Management, identifying opportunities to maximise production and performance and share best practice.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with site personnel through effective communication and by making regular visits to on and offshore plants/installations.
• Develop positive and constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers. Identify opportunities to improve contractor/supplier performance, reduce costs and improve the quality of services/products supplied.
• Ensure all modifications meet statutory and Company standards, adhere to the ‘Request for Modification’ Procedure and are correctly closed out.
• Technically responsible for review and final approval of estimates, work scopes and modification documentation provided by the engineering design contractor.
• Responsible for input to the Engineering plan to ensure that all modifications are captured and progressed in a timely manner.
• Carry out routine review of Stream Cases (company database system to track integrity threats and improvement opportunities) and ensure that the status is regularly updated and prioritised.
• Attend safety related meetings as a representative of Operations: Risk Assessment, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Assessment.
• Undertake analyses / studies of technical problems (long standing and recently identified), identify viable technical longer-term solutions and / or options in compliance with company and legislative standards and make recommendations to line / site management for approval.
• Investigate more complex problems by leading / participating in multi-discipline teams / projects in conjunction with other operations personnel / engineering team / engineering design contractors.
• Perform surveys on onshore and offshore sites for preparation of Scope of Work.
• Produce work packs to give direction to site personnel at all levels (technician to senior management) for implementation of technical solutions. Accountable for supervising the close-out and update of all associated documentation and planned maintenance.
• Develop positive and constructive relationships with site personnel, 3rd party contractors and suppliers.
• Supports Technical Departments in identification, design, validation and implementation of selected engineered solution for the field, regardless of its sponsor (Projects or Field Operations through the modification control procedure).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred
• Appropriate experience in oil and gas process/production
• Good working knowledge of electrical legislation / regulations
• Experience of working on an operational site (offshore/terminal plant) and equipment and maintenance systems
• Experience in electrical design and knowledge of basic cable and protection calculations
• Knowledge of industry standards and specifications
• Experience of working on an operational site
• BOSIET, MIST and Offshore Medical Certificate
