The Company:
Our client is an International Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company with operations in 16 countries, they have achieved spectacular growth in the past ten years, growth which they expect to continue.

There Southern North Sea (North) facility comprises both on and offshore natural gas production and processing facilities. They include 18 offshore producing gas platforms off the east coast of Yorkshire.

The Role:
Our client is now a largest global subsidiary and is now the largest operator in the Southern North Sea.
The operations comprise of offshore natural gas production and onshore processing facilities in two locations, centred in Hull and Great Yarmouth. In the Hull asset there are 18 offshore producing gas platforms situated off the east coast of Yorkshire. A network of subsea pipelines transport the gas from the platforms to the Dimlington terminal at Easington, where the gas is processed and fed into the National Grid. The operation is facilitated by helicopter from Humberside airport.

The Electrical Operations Support Engineer is accountable, as part of a team, for electrical day to day support to the offshore and onshore terminal operations, along with minor project support.

Key responsibilities include;
Day to day support for electrical offshore/onshore operational issues, including-
•Power generation
•Electrical distribution, switchboards, transformers MCC’s etc.
•Lighting, emergency and normal.
•Navigational aids.
•High Voltage system support.

Engaging with other disciplines as required for operational support.
Participation in the Management of Change (MOC) process.
An in-depth knowledge of IEC 60079, the Operation and Maintenance of Electrical Systems in Hazardous Areas.
Electrically focused participation in audits.
Occasional offshore visits are required in support of operations.
Knowledge of Maintenance management system, preferable Maximo and the use and implementation of maintenance strategies.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BEng or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
HNC in electrical engineering.
Minimum 5 years experience in an Electrical Engineering role within an Operational facility, preferably Oil & Gas or Petrochemical, ideally in the offshore industry.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Provide innovative and creative solutions to challenges.
Able to communicate and influence technical and business issues and plans related to electrical equipment and procedures to ensure safe operation.
Self motivating with the commitment to work consistently to the highest standards.
