The Company:
Our client is a Major International EPC Company executing industrial mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Role:
Act in accordance with the Project Instructions, and as approved by the Lead Electrical Engineer. This position will also interface with Area Managers, Construction Managers, and the project electrical team.
• Prepare all technical documentation as required and be responsible for review of contractor submission to ensure they meet the project requirements.
• Design completion and review of electrical protection, control, metering and annunciation systems.
• Review, comment and acceptance of Contractors’ manufacturing and installation drawings.
• Support during installation, commissioning and testing.
• Related work on interfaces with Mechanical and Civil disciplines for Balance of Plant.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare all technical documentation required for the protection and control systems, including, but not limited to:
• Protection single line diagrams
• Control and communication system architecture schematics
• Control and protection schematics for station auxiliary systems of hydro power plant
• Control & Protection equipment general layout drawings
• Design criteria
• Design briefs
• Control, protection and communication systems technical specifications
• Technical data sheets
• Technical reports
• List of equipment
• Cable lists

Other duties include:

• Manage and coordinate the progress of the electrical engineering work for the protection and control systems in accordance with the project scope, schedule and procedures.

• Review shop drawings to ensure conformity with engineering designs.

• Review, comment and acceptance of Contractors’ manufacturing and installation drawings

• After the award of contracts and purchase orders monitor the installation work to ensure that it is executed in accordance with the Engineering design.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
In order for applicants to be considered for this position, their resume must clearly demonstrate that they have the following:
• Bachelors of Applied Science degree in electrical engineering.

• Registration or eligible for immediate registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador.
