The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Controls Engineer Chassis Electronics are looking for an experienced and highly motivated controls engineer with responsibility for the development, delivery, and validation of in-house control systems for Vehicle Dynamics functions. The Chassis Electronics department supports Chassis Engineering, providing electronic systems design and development expertise for features such as ABS, DSC, EPB, ACC, and VDS. Within Chassis Electronics, the Vehicle Dynamic Systems team are responsible for developing and delivering in-house control software for a range of systems including suspension, damping, driveline controls and Terrain Response. Tasks Include: Development of model based control strategies using Matlab / Simulink / State flow. This includes development of new systems, updates of existing systems and architecture improvements. Requirements analysis and decomposition, control strategy design, development and execution of validation process. Working with a team of system and software engineers, including an offshore team, to manage timely delivery of software according to programme timing and local delivery milestones. Issue investigation and resolution.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 key skills; Simulink model development experience including State Flow Target link experience C programming experience. Experience of vehicle testing on- and off-road including proving ground environments. Experience of component, system and vehicle level issue investigations including appropriate problem solving and reporting tools (5D, Is / Is Not, Fault Tree etc.). Experience of quality and safety standards such as SPICE, ISO26262 / IEC61508 or similar. Experience of CAN bus, automotive diagnostics and related system development tools (CANalyzer, ASL, CANape, etc.) Experience working with or managing offshore software development teams and / or 3rd party ECU suppliers for software coding and integration tasks. Experience in six-sigma techniques.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of control strategy development and delivery through all stages of the engineering development `V' cycle. Experience of quality and robustness techniques and standards such as FMEA, P-Diagrams, noise factor analysis, and data analysis techniques to support this. Must be eligible to work within the UK without sponsorship. Willingness to support occasional travel including overseas testing. Degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive / Aerospace engineering or similar subject, or equivalent industry experience. Full UK driving license.
