The Company:
My client is an international provider of facilities solutions to the oil & gas production and processing industries. As part of continual expansion they are actively looking to recruit a Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer to provide electrical and instrumentation support to scope of FPSO modification projects.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for HV/LV switchgear, field instrumentation, SCADA/DCS/PLC systems and power generation and distribution

The Role:
Key Duties
• Ensure that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, regulations and procedures.
• Concept design for proposals;
• Due diligence reviews for FPSO purchases;
• Oversight of FEED and EPC contractors process and facilities design;
• Support to Asset Management Team for operational technical queries and brown field modifications;
• Supervise the work done by engineering subcontractors and equipment suppliers
• Support shipyard site teams in responding to technical queries
• Produce specifications for subcontractors and class societies
• Perform quick and early evaluations of vessel E&I suitability based on limited information and short inspection visits.
• Support the Technical Director with Technical Bid Evaluations. Review vendor documentation and comment to ensure design conformance
• Capable of leading specialist teams and taking on additional responsibilities when required

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
• Good knowledge of power generation, power management/distribution, instrumentation, control, telecoms/communications, ESD, F&G and marine E&I issues of all types of floating production units
• Working knowledge of marine and process disciplines and their interfaces with E&I discipline
• Good knowledge of applicable marine and floating production regulations – especially E&I

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educational Background
• Minimum 5 years offshore industry experience with at least 2 years with FPSO contractor, engineering contractor or specialist E&I contractor engaged in floating production activities.
• Must have worked on at least one floating production vessel project from concept to completion
• Degree in electrical engineering or relevant discipline
