The Company:
Subsidiary of major energy company, operating offshore gas fields and onshore gas processing terminals.

The Role:
Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer who will set targets, the job holder is responsible for the delivery of technical support to the asset, include development & review of E/I design concept and detailed design engineering for management of change approval in compliance with technical and project procedures. The role holder will assist the principal engineers manage the discipline specific aspects through development, implementation and monitoring of operational & maintenance philosophies, strategies, policies & procedures. Keeping abreast of changes in technology & legislation, they will support operations & maintenance departments, develop technical options & concepts to resolve operational concerns & long term challenges.

Principal accountabilities will be:
Assist the Principal Engineers (Electrical and C&I) to develop and implement an asset integrity assurance and verification system
Ensure legislative compliance, safety system availability, continuing reliability of plant, longevity of plant equipment, cost effective production capability and high safety and environmental performance
Develop engineering philosophy, and maintain and promote aspects of the Management System and an associated suite of company policies, procedures and practices relating to the clients operations.
Develop company technical standards and specifications, and establish performance standards for Safety Critical Elements, managing any deviation from these standards.
Develop, review and approve temporary engineering modifications and other significant engineering modifications as necessary to assure asset integrity.
Provide a quality technical support service to other departments through the monitoring of plant & equipment performance, resolution of operating problems, optimising safety and operational systems, specifying materials and equipment for procurement, undertaking studies and development of statutory documentation.
Lead or undertake multi-disciplined technical/operational audits and reviews of maintenance schemes, modification works and other activities undertaken by Company personnel and/or contractors.
Could act in the capacity of Project Engineer to manage capital or revenue projects, from feasibility study to implementation and commissioning, which enhance the capability of the production assets.
To undertake a key role within the Field emergency management team.
This is a diverse role, which will provide a great opportunity for the individual to get experience of the full engineering lifecycle, from early concept design to maintenance and decommissioning. There will be significant interaction with all areas of the business but especially operations & front line maintenance teams, both onshore & offshore as well as the engineering contractor(s) used within the asset.

The job holder will need to be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a resilient & tenacious approach to influence a positive outcome. They will need to reply on their sound engineering knowledge & experience, and decision making whilst interacting with other technical experts across a number of disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure to asset operations and Brownfield modifications which will provide a sound basis for future appointments across a number of future postings within the organisation.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The applicant will be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering and Chartered, or working towards. They will be able to work well as part of a multi-discipline team but with drive to progress their individual objectives to a successful conclusion, seeking support as required. Key to the role are the three pillars of the CE way - high performance, pioneering spirit and safety - which will enable the individual to respond to the varied challenges ahead, develop their potential and become a key member of the engineering team.
