The Electrical Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, agreeing and delivering electrical test planning requirements and for concerns closure, as allocated to them by the Functional Manager. This role is responsible for the development of test processes (including associated test facilities requirements), and for the analysis, closure, and reporting of electrical test failures. Problem solving and analysis skills are essential to enable a logical approach to establishing the root cause of complex systematic electrical issues, including using a range of production and pre-production diagnostic equipment. The role will involve a high degree of cross-functional liaison to ensure robust and timely closure of issues, and will require an ability and willingness to lead and drive each issue with the relevant colleagues. The role requires the ability to work effectively both individually and in a team when required.
In particular this role will focus on High Voltage vehicles and the integration into manufacturing supporting all aspects of electrical test, rectification, process and rework. "Key background and technical experience in this field is required
> Proven experience working within automotive manufacturing or design environment
> Logical approach to problem identification and solving
> Computer literate with good technical skills (appreciation of computer programming and software packages, e.g. SQL database) - MS Office essential, particularly good working knowledge of Excel
> Knowledge and understanding of Electrical rectification tooling and software (VAS Tools, ODISE/S, CPTool, CANalyser
> Proven track record of working with vehicle CANBus systems (Lin, MOST, Flexray) including repair methods.
> Extensive experience of Electrical diagnostic repair techniques and methodology.
> HV / PHEV experience highly desirable
>Previous experience of working with high voltage automotive electric drive systems (>250V)
>Experience of independent work on high voltage vehicles without certain type instruction for the vehicle
>Ability to perform range checks (for example, safety devices, protective measures)
>Experience of working alongside EfffT's, EFK in the creation of documentation & planning
>Implementation and ensuring security briefings (min. once a year) for persons with electro technical activities in the high voltage environment
>Ability to participate in the preparation and delivery of training materials for high voltage education
>Ensuring regular maintenance, review and possible rejection of personal protective equipment and the tools to be used and aids
