The Role:
The Electrical Pre-Commissioning Engineer will have responsibility for
A. Is to manage and support the effective and safe commissioning of all site electrical systems on the within their teams allocated area.
B. Support delivery of the projects KPI's, including cascading safety, quality and schedule KPI's onto every individual in the team.
C. The incumbent will be expected to successfully plan and execute all electrical activities from construction handover to safe and stable operation or their associated areas equipment.
D. Is to provide front line hands on and technical support to commission and troubleshoot the facility's electrical related equipment.
E. The incumbent will be expected to manage a team of electrical Techs ensuring they complete tasks to Air Products and in country electrical regulations. Additionally, all task completions must be recorded and approved by the incumbent engineer for their teams work lists.
F. Work closely with the Overall Commissioning Managers, Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning team Managers, Safety Engineer and the Electrical Construction Supervisor. A focus on schedule and the support of pre-commissioning activities is key to collectively working towards the projects collective goals.
G. Help ensure the on schedule handover and validation of all site electrical systems in accordance with internal and external regulation within the project schedule. The safe handling of electrical equipment and knowledge of the potential hazards is essential
Work closely alongside the Air Products construction team, and construction contractors to ensure the achievement of the mechanical completion milestone.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Electrical Engineer should have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, supplemented by experience of commissioning or maintenance within engineering environments such as the power, petrochemical, steel, oil and gas industries, waste management or material handling.
* Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
* With more than 25 nationalities represented at site the ability to work across cultures and language barriers is key.
* Knowledge of computer based applications (Microsoft Office) and a working knowledge of an ERP system (AP use SAP as its standard)
* COMPEX qualification
* Familiarisation with IEE regulations
* Ability to read single line drawings, P&IDs and other technical documentation
* Ability to troubleshoot and make good and timely decisions in pressurised situations
* Flexibility in terms of changing priorities, workload and working hours
