The Company:
Our client is one of the largest independent engineering, construction and services company in the UK.

The Role:
Our client is currently looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to work on a refurbishment project on a nuclear site.


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To be responsible for the effective project engineering service, exclusively by the role holder or as part of a team of engineers under a project manager, to ensure that defined projects are engineered to specification and delivered in line with planned costs. Working with the Project Manager to ensure that any re-engineering/variations to initially agreed plans are managed in accordance to clients processes.

Activities:

H&S - Demonstrate appropriate Health and Safety leadership to ensure that safety is visible and transparent throughout all activities relating to the project on which they are working. Conversant with all typical Safety suite documentation ( RA’S /MS ) IOSH is mandatory

Pre-commencement - Participate and positively contribute to pre-commencement activities, planning, risk mitigation and innovation / best practice approach to works.

Re-engineering - Review and evaluate the project works required by the specification and drawings, and re-engineer proposed solutions in support with the design team to ensure the precise provision of the customer’s requirements, and enhanced profitability for the company.

Compliance - Ensure that all operational activities are carried out in compliance with internal regulations and external legislation governing business operations.

Relationships / Customers - Maintaining positive relationships with the project customer through efficient delivery of projects with a view to optimising future opportunities and profitability.

Sub-contractor management - Monitor and ensure that the work of the appointed specialist sub-contractors is being carried out to specification and programme.

Technical - Ensuring design and installation meets internal and client specification and statutory requirements.

Team Leadership - If appropriate, managing a small team on the project to maximise the potential of the team whilst ensuring team objectives are met.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience:
Experienced Electrical project engineer, must be conversant with construction requirements within Sellafield.
Must have the ability to lead, persuade / influence and motivate others
Planning , Organising and monitoring skills
Commercial understanding within a common sense / practical approach and outline knowledge of NEC3
Self-motivated and proactive manner towards all tasks
Good communication skills , interpersonal , ability to share / delegate

Training/Qualifications:
Previous experience working on a nuclear site
JIB registered – time served electrical apprenticeship
City & guilds 236 part 1 & 2
City & Guilds Wiring Regs 17th edition
IOSH Managerial Responsibilities

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Save a life – SL course (desirable )
Baseline security clearance beneficial.
