The Company:
Our client, a major Oil & Gas owner/operator, is seeking expertise for their mega-projects in Alberta.

The Role:
Position Purpose:

• Provide Quality Assurance at supplier shops and module yards for Electrical installations.
• Responsible to ensure Quality Control requirements are defined and met for projects.
• Responsible to provide Quality Control requirement training to 3rd party inspectors and Contractor Quality Control personnel.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Review the Construction Contractors Quality Control Manuals for Construction of Electrical for both Power and (EHT) Electrical Heat Tracing installations to ensure they meet the requirements of the Jurisdiction Safety Codes, Acts and applicable Project Standards and purchase order requirements.
• Reviews and Approves Inspection and Test Plans and supports the project to ensure appropriate coverage on inspection (hold, witness, surveillance & review) points are completed for electrical equipment.
• Ensure project lessons learned including on quality control are documented and applied to future projects.
• Monthly reporting of Construction Quality KPI’s.
• Actively demonstrate support for the corporate position on health, safety, sustainable development, diversity, respectful workplace and the General Business Principles and Code of Ethics.
• Interface with the Client's Authorized Electrical Specialist to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
• Supports the Client's project deliverables.
• Ensures that the project preservation plan is in place and in effect.

Special Challenges:

• Surveillance of construction Quality Control work on Oil Sands projects for on time completion of deliverables and completed documentation.
• Ability to influence project management teams on integrity based decisions to ensure the correct balance of risk and cost considerations in business decisions and regulatory requirements.

• Work experience will include module yard and shop fabrication

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience and Qualifications required:

• 10 years Industrial Electrical experience minimum.
• Previous industrial electrical inspection is a requirement.
• Training in EHT installation.
• Testing and knowledge in software programming is desirable.
• Journeyman Electrician
