The Role:
We are currently looking for an Electrical Specialist to assist with Impressed Voltage Audits across the UK, This role is for roughly 20 days spanning over 2 months. Site trips travel expenses will be covered (usually 5 days on site) and then the rest of your time will be writing reports at home.

Management of construction site health and safety risks within Capital Delivery – Impressed Voltage ref 2056

Audit objectives
1.1 The overall objective of this audit is to assess the effectiveness impressed voltage Capital Delivery projects are effectively managed and work activities carried out in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and legislation.
1.2 The objectives are to assess the extent that:
•    Policies and procedures are established with effective management arrangements in place to control them;
•    Organisational arrangements are in place to cover competence, co-operation and communication;
•    Planning is undertaken to ensure that all activities are effectively controlled at the outset;
•    Implementation processes are robust to ensure that all policies, procedures and organisational arrangements are effectively embedded within the business;
•    Monitoring is in place to determine the effectiveness of controls used to address the risks; and
•    Results from the monitoring of the systems are reported so that processes and subsequent risks can be identified and potential improvements to the systems can be made.
Scope & Approach
1.1 Our work will involve the following steps:
•    Check compliance against the contractors impressed voltage safe system of work (SSOW);
•    Clarity of roles and responsibilities associated with HV Plant activities such as; (Earthing Control Person (ECP) and Earthing Application Person (EAP);
•    Review coverage of impressed voltage training by the contractor;
•    Review the RAMS issued in association with the application and removal of Impressed voltage drain earths and setting to work;
•    Review a sample of the quality and effective use of the IV earthing schedules issued;
•    Testing, monitoring, and reporting on effectiveness of the impressed voltage SSOW by both the contractor and National Grid

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Strong audit, and writing skills with electrical engineering background advantageous.
