The Role:
• Supporting the Electrical Technical Authority for client assets, manage the continuous improvement of electrical equipment integrity, reliability, maintenance and repairs.

Accountable to the Electrical Technical Authority to:
• Deputise for Electrical Technical Authority.
• Provide technical support to the Operations Team in the resolution of electrical systems and equipment integrity and operational issues.
• Provide support to the Electrical Technical Authority regarding the competency assurance process for discipline technicians where appropriate.
• Plan and manage maintenance, inspection and upgrade campaigns where directed.
• Manage onshore overhauls and attend repair facilities for interface and witness activities as appropriate.
• Management of 3rd party electrical equipment support contracts.
• Carry out maintenance and spares reviews where required.
• Provide technical support to loss investigations and action follow up activities where directed.
• Maintain the lifecycle technical integrity of the offshore installations by ensuring appropriate maintenance and integrity strategies, engineering standards, procedures and guidance documents are adhered to in all activities.
• Assess performance and condition monitoring results, ensuring appropriate follow up.
• Support Technical Authority in the assessment of anomalies, deviations from standard and maintenance deferrals, developing risk mitigations and producing technical reports where appropriate.
• Single point of accountability for discipline modifications and management process improvements where directed.
• Scope of equipment covered includes all topsides HV&LV electrical systems including main & emergency power generation and distribution, earthing systems, electrical protection, Ex inspections, UPS systems, motors, lighting and navaids.

Health, Safety and Environment
• Demonstrate personal leadership and help ensure that HSSE performance throughout the onshore and offshore teams is to a very high standard.
• Actively participate in incident investigations and assist the team in determining the root cause.
• Ensure all personal actions resulting from investigations are resolved within the given time frames.
• Ensure that safety systems are being maintained to provide adequate protection to the facilities.
• Support asset and client processes relating to Health, Safety & Environment, Integrity Management and Safety Management System.

Operations & Technical Integrity
• Provide technical support to the Operations Team in the resolution of key machinery integrity and operational issues.
• Plan and manage overhaul and upgrade campaigns where directed.
• Manage onshore overhauls and attend repair facilities for interface and witness activities as appropriate.
• Management of 3rd party electrical equipment support contracts.
• Carry out ongoing maintenance and spares reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
• Provide technical support to loss investigations and action follow up activities where directed.
• Maintain the lifecycle technical integrity of the offshore installations by ensuring appropriate maintenance and integrity strategies, engineering standards, procedures and guidance documents are adhered to in all activities.
• Assess performance and condition monitoring results, ensuring appropriate follow up.
• Support Technical Authority in the assessment of anomalies, deviations from standard and maintenance deferrals, developing risk mitigations and producing technical reports where appropriate.
• Single point of accountability for discipline modifications and management process improvements where directed.
• Carry out routine offshore visits, performing safety and technical site audits.
• Maintain an effective interface with operations, engineering, integrity, process and subsea / pipeline functions.
• Play an active role, providing guidance, challenge and support, in the client Surface Team.
• Deputise for the Electrical Technical Authority as required.

Cost Management, Contract Management & Planning
• Develop budgets and manage costs for designated repairs and modifications cost codes (as per clientBudget Listing) in line with Cost Management process.
• Manage designated support contracts for the client Assets, complete relevant scorecards and hold regular performance review meetings.
• Actively input into MYP, 8Q and 90 Day Plans supporting the associated planning processes and requirements.

Reporting
• Carry out routine maintenance history reviews within discipline ensuring forward plans are established for identified equipment performance gaps (KPI's, history, trends, backlogs etc).
• Support the continual improvement of Maintenance & Integrity Status Reports & associated KPI's.

People Management
• Foster open and honest communications with members of the client Team and associated support groups.
• Ensure continued networking with peers to share best practices and learnings.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent professional qualification in electrical engineering or significant experience in a similar role.
• Current Offshore Medical and Survival Certificate.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with an appropriate engineering council registered body.
• Previous Electrical Support Engineer experience in the UKCS with a sound knowledge of the functionality and operation issues associated with electrical equipment on typical offshore installations.
• Proven experience in the development of maintenance strategies and associated routines, use of maintenance management systems and maintenance deferral processes.
• Awareness of hazard identification, risk assessment techniques and management of change processes.
• Awareness of key legislation and regulatory framework applicable to UKCS offshore regime including major accident hazards, performance standards, assurance and verification activities.
