The Role:
The purpose of this position is:

- To provide technical support to loss investigations and root cause investigations.
- To maintain the lifecycle technical integrity of the offshore installations by ensuring appropriate maintenance and integrity strategies, engineering standards, procedures and guidance documents are adhered to in all activities.
- To sssess performance and condition monitoring results, ensuring appropriate follow up.
- To support the Technical Authority in the assessment of anomalies, deviations from standard and maintenance deferrals, developing risk mitigations and producing technical reports where appropriate.
- To provide technical support to the Operations Team in the delivery of project overhaul campaigns or resolution of key equipment integrity and operational issues.
- To plan and manage overhaul and upgrade campaigns where directed and attend repair facilities for interface and witness activities as appropriate.
- To carry out maintenance and spares reviews where required.
- To ensure all temporary or permanent modifications are technically assessed, meet appropriate standards and correctly endorsed. Attends factory acceptance tests as required.
- To support the discipline Technical Authority in the maintenance of the Electrical Equipment performance standards, their upkeep and compliance and supports the continual improvement of Maintenance & Integrity reporting functions including Status Reports & associated KPI’s.
- To provide support to the Electrical Technical Authority regarding the competency assurance process for discipline technicians where appropriate.
- To support the Technical Authority in management of the long term reliability of equipment through ‘lookahead’ planning, review of the relevant strategic plans and makes recommendations relating to strategic facilities improvements.
- Provide support to the Technical Authority in the review of design documentation, technical reports and management system documentation where directed.
- Carries out routine maintenance history reviews within Electrical Equipment ensuring forward plans are established for identified equipment performance gaps
- Assesses deviations from standard, material degradation reports and maintenance deferrals, ensuring risk levels are acceptable and endorsing continued operation where appropriate.
- Undertake routine offshore visits, performs safety and technical site audits.
- Participate in incident investigations to determine the root cause, ensures actions resulting from investigations are resolved within the given time frames and that Safety Critical Elements are designed, installed and maintained to ensure that the items are fit for purpose.
- Acts as the Company Representative in relation to relevant Industry and governing bodies as required and directed.
- Carries out routine offshore visits, performing safety and technical site audits.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will essentially be:

Degree or equivalent professional qualification in relevant engineering discipline or significant experience in a similar role

Sound knowledge of engineering practices, codes and standards and their application to development and management of lifecycle asset integrity assurance programmes.

Good knowledge of other discipline functions such as:
Operations, Inspection, Engineering and Process.

Good knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment techniques

Good understanding of management of change processes and tools

Current Offshore Medical and Survival Certificate

Significant experience within specialist engineering discipline with a high level of knowledge of UK offshore operations and infrastructure

Excellent understanding of key legislation and regulatory framework applicable to UKCS offshore regime with in depth knowledge of major accident hazards, performance standards, assurance and verification activities

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
It is preferred but not essential for the candidate to have:

Experience of maintenance budgets

Experience of managing teams of technical engineers

Chartered Engineer status with an appropriate engineering council registered body

Experience of the management of vendor services contracts
