The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role, working within the Chassis Systems domain, requires the individual to define, develop and validate one or more of the driver mode systems across all vehicle lines. The driver modes are distributed control systems that provide customer selectable features which enhance the capability and interactivity of the existing chassis control systems on the vehicle. A well-known example is the Terrain Response system currently on all 4x4 Products. The role sits within the existing driver modes system group which is led by the Subject Matter Expert for Driver modes and supported by the team of system engineers.

Key Responsibilities
The Lead Systems Engineer will be required to deliver:
* Requirements definition and exchange with internal and external suppliers
* Control system and HMI interface design and definition, System Requirements Document ownership.
* Design Verification and Validation test creation and test activities
* Physical and virtual test activities, simulation, HiL Rig and full vehicle testing
* Co-ordination of stakeholders and delivery of system to programme gateways.
* Exchange specifications and system level requirement within the company and to the Suppliers.
* Publish SCS Function specifications as formal standards
* Work with the software suppliers to ensure that their systems meet company requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* A mechanical or automotive engineer with post graduate experience in systems engineering may be appropriate.
* Experience of vehicle and Hil/Lab car verification methods.
* DOORS Requirements Management.
* Knowledge of Control systems and Systems Engineering.
* Excellent team-working, organization, communication & networking skills.
* Self-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision.
* Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure and beyond normal working hours when required.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Knowledge of Stability Control Systems and other Chassis Systems.
* Proving ground dynamic and off-road driving certification
* Full driving licence (Cat B Vehicles)
* Post graduate qualification in Systems Engineering
