The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role, working within the Stability Control Systems Function domain, requires the individual to define, design, develop and validate a new 'State Estimation' signal, related to the vehicle dynamic behaviour, which will be used to improve the vehicle traction control system. This technology is currently still in the research phase. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take this technology through to production application. The role sits within the existing Stability Control System Function team which is led by the Subject Matter Expert and supported by the team of engineers. Key Responsibilities The Systems Engineer will be required to support: Requirements definition. Control system and System Requirements Document ownership. Design Verification and Validation test creation and test activities. Physical and virtual test activities, simulation, HiL Rig and full vehicle testing. Co-ordination of stakeholders and delivery of system to programme gateways. Publish SCS Function specifications as formal standards. Work with the software suppliers to ensure that their systems meet clients requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS; An experienced and advanced user of the IBM DOORS Requirements Management tool set. Control systems engineering. A track record in project management which demonstrates successful delivery of multi-disciplinary projects in an industrial product development or research context. Degree in Electronic or Systems Engineering or Mechanical / Automotive engineering with Systems Engineering experience. Strong team work - Excellent team-working, organization, communication & networking skills. Self-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision. Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure and beyond normal working hours when required.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
A mechanical or automotive engineer with post graduate experience in systems engineering. Knowledge of Stability Control Systems and other Chassis Systems. Knowledge of vehicle dynamics. Knowledge of Control Systems theory. Proving ground dynamic and off-road driving certification. Full driving licence.
