The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Design engineer working in the infotainment department. Will own the development/implementation and validation of diagnostics and EOL functionality within an ECU. You will be responsible for developing the technical specification and working with suppliers to provide a technical solution, test and validation. This will be fitted as part of a complex system, bridging infotainment and Telematics areas. We are therefore looking for an individual with excellent hardware design skills, understanding of automotive-specific requirements and a drive to ensure an end-to-end solution is delivered on-time. Also, you will be expected to support vehicle-level EMC investigations as part of a cross-functional team. - Liaison with the other teams and owners to coordinate test activities and issues resolution. - Contributing to the cross-functional activities that support the system deliverables and system sign-off. - Co-ordinate Design and component validation work to produce acceptable packages and installations that meet vehicle and system targets. - Contributing to the resolution of issues (AIMS and/or e-trackers), involving other areas as required, e.g. EMC, Antennas, Packaging, other Electrical teams, Manufacturing, Purchasing, STA.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineer with experience in infotainment / car entertainment systems, data communication. Prior knowledge of automotive systems and processes are preferred. Supplier and project management skills will be advantageous in this role. Knowledge of electronics systems design and packaging is ideal, experience of project management of complex systems through to implementation, able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical issues within a team environment, excellent communication & interpersonal skills, self-confidence and the ability to operate with minimum supervision, development of electrical system features experience desirable. ECU diagnostics requirements and documentation (Part 1&2), ECU testing. CANLyzer and scripting knowledge. SW and HW requirements capture. Conduct and support manufacturing line trials of the new hardware and software variants introduced. Take responsibility of EOL test specifications.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience of the company’s electrical programmes, vehicle programmes and internal systems would be a distinct advantage. Understanding of automotive diagnostics requirement and manufacturing tests sequences would be beneficial too.
