The Company:
Our client is a leading supplier of professional scientific and engineering consultancy services mainly to the United Kingdom nuclear industry

The Role:
• A member of the Engineering Team reporting to and supporting the Engineering Manager. Undertake the design of HV and LV Electrical systems on behalf of the clients project and the Design Authority.
• Responsibility as a project client for ensuring liaison between the Design House and the Design Authority on behalf of the Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the work of discipline to be assured of the quality of work produced
• Review and comment/approve contractors submissions
• Ensure the design meets the operational/design requirements, and any Safety Functional Requirements
• Record and communicate engineering discipline deficiencies for project
• Provide professional and technical direction for Design House Electrical Engineers
• Monitor progress on deliverables by Design House
• Maintain effective working relationships with the design authorities
• Requirement to attend meetings at both Design House and Client to perform role.
• Assist Engineering Manager in managing cross discipline interfaces
• Identify to the Engineering manager any shortfalls in resource numbers or capability within discipline which may threaten the technical design work on the project
• Ensuring adequate interfacing between other technical discipline.
• Ensure all technical documents and data are prepared and structured in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Other duties as directed by the EM (or SEM)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of SC level clearance
• Minimum of a Degree in an Engineering discipline or a Chartered Engineer, but not necessarily both.
• Preferential knowledge of HV, LV, Earthing and Lightning Protection systems, awareness of Electromagnetic Compatibility.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Desirable to have some relevant experience of working with design teams in a multidiscipline engineering project.
• Possibly associate or full membership of an appropriate Institute
