The Company:
A major, international oil and gas operator.

The Role:
We are looking for a high quality engineer who is qualified to degree level or similar qualification who is able to balance the demands of day to day intervention & problem fixing with maintaining the need to assure the long term technical integrity of the plant.

Required Skills

•Fully competent in all aspects of plant HV and LV electrical systems, including generation, distribution, switching, protection, and load shedding

•Familiar with AC and DC uninterruptible power supply systems, their specification, installation and operation

•Provide discipline input into the MOC and future major CAPEX projects. Act as ‘Job Responsible Engineer’ for discipline related M O C’s.

•Experience with the specification , installation and operation of electrical equipment for hazardous areas

•Participate and perform process hazard analysis functions, Integrity Level Assessments, design reviews and risk assessments as required.

•Provide discipline technical support to the Operations and Maintenance teams.

•Thorough knowledge of electrical protective systems and safety interlocking

•Experience of preparation of budgets within the discipline area.

•Ensure that all electrical engineering documentation, procedures and manuals are in place and maintained for the operation and maintenance of the facilities.

•Coach, mentor and contribute to the professional development of national electrical engineers.


•Developing, maintaining and ensuring on-going compliance with systems and processes described within the JV procedures, standards and systems.

•Monitoring plant operations to ensure parameters remain within the safe range of design

•Providing technical guidance on the application of codes and standards with respect to electrical engineering, especially ETP’s

•Approving and documenting any deviations from mandated codes, standards and project design criteria

•Approval authority for engineering documents within the Electrical discipline

•Approval authority in area of expertise for Management of Change proposals

•Approval authority for equipment installation and functional testing with respect to electrical design requirements

•Responsible for the management of the IA Electrical Authorisation Procedure to ensure that all electrical isolations, switching, and fault reset activities carried out on IA equipment are by persons judged to be competent with sufficient technical knowledge and experience to prevent danger

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience :

The applicant must have a minimum of 15 years relevant experience, which includes design, maintenance, and operation of electrical power systems in the oil and gas processing facilities
Familiar with applicable industry standards and practices

Education / Certifications:

Degree educated or similar qualification required with relevant experience


Fluent in English.
The ability to speak French and Arabic would be an advantage but not essential. French language training is available at site
