The Role:
Position Summary:
• The Electrician is responsible for various duties including but now limited to the operational integrity, maintenance (preventive maintenance), installation and removal of electrical equipment, repair and documentation of the entire offshore unit’s electrical systems and equipment to include all refrigeration and air conditioning systems, all electrical power generation sources, rectifiers and circuits, transformers, power distribution equipment, electrical motors and controller, performing diagnostic tests and troubleshooting system faults and failures, of all electrical equipment down to the component level. The ultimate objective of this position is to ensure that electrical power is supplied where and when needed, that all electrical systems are within safety and regulatory body compliance standards and all electrical equipment remains operative throughout the operation.
Essential Functions
• Maintain all certifications as required by appropriate regulatory authorities.
• Must be thoroughly knowledgeable in the use of the Company’s Hot Work Permit system onboard any operation assigned.
• Participates and contributes in the following activities; Safety meetings, Training sessions, Outside school and Safety drills and inspections.
• Must be knowledgeable regarding various functions of the other departments for saf and efficient interface of job duties.
• Must represent the Company in a professional manner both on and off the job to include confidentiality of Company and client business.
• Practices safety at all times while on Company property.
• Completes as directed any required paperwork
• Work under pressure as “down time” during production operations can present major difficulties, loss of revenue and cause undue delays.
• Performs any change to the unit electrical/electronic systems.
• Troubleshoot and understand switch gear, motor starters,generators and power distribution.
• Understand ladder logic from difficult programs that control PLCs.
• Understand analog and digital devices in input/output for various devices.
• Understand the machinery as in the oil field today; AC/DC motors, Cranes, Mud pump and Power Generator.
• Troubleshoot, maintenance and repair of AC/DC motors.
• Troubleshoots down to the component level.
• Maintains a high standard of safety clean condition. Corrects and/or reports unsafe conditions and other faults.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Skill Requirement
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience with Technical skills such as; computers, electronics, calibration, hydraumatics, pneumatics and comprehensive knowledge of oil and gas process equipment.
• Must have the ability to interpret electronic schematic drawings of pneumatic loops, hardware relay logic diagrams, motor control circuit diagrams, etc. and troubleshoot faults remotely-without being at equipment.
• Ability to extract read and understand data loggers.
• Ability to communicate to other technical people verbally and in writing.
• Must have good mathematical skills to include basic algebra for calculation of electrical/electronic equations.
• The ability to analyze problems, identify, solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.
