The Role:
Based in Portsmouth supporting EEE parts activities for Electronic Equipment teams engaged in the design of Digital Processors, Crypto, SSPA, RF Beacons and Frequency Control Products.
The Electronic Component Engineer acts within the EEE Local Electronic Support as the responsible interface between the 4 core functions of the EEE Center (engineering, supply quality, procurement & supply & strategy, laboratories) and our internal customers. The Electronic Component Engineer is the responsible link to the product lines (including manufacturing) as well as the design, project and product assurance teams.

Within this important interface role the Electronic Component Engineer;
• Accountable in front of internal customer for all topics on electronic components and printed circuits boards (PCB) related to electronics equipment.
• Responsible for component selection management, demand management (on quality, on time, on cost) and usage support.
• Coordinating all component requirements.
• Managing deviations and non-conformances with users.
• Ensure link between internal customer and component engineering center, locally embedded as part of project/product/design/PA teams.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree or higher vocational qualifications or equivalent combination of formal qualification and experience
- Demonstrable experience in the technology of electronic components parts
- Demonstrable experience in engineering
- High competence in team work
- Customer-oriented way of thinking
- Good understanding of operational quality, schedule and costs in an electronic manufacturing environment
- Independent and accurate way of working

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Knowledge of EEE space standardization systems as well as the (MIL, ESCC) necessary evaluations and qualifications.
- Knowledge in electronic manufacturing
- Experience within quality engineering
- Project management
