The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.
The Role:
The Electronic Design Engineer will be responsible for -
Design, development and testing of electronic hardware for interfacing to analytical sensors
Evaluate EMC performance of existing and modified designs against emission and immunity standards.
Determine root cause of problem areas and develop cost effective solutions
Documentation of requirements, design description, test plans and results ensuring the product and documents meet internal and external standards.
Creating effective electronic hardware solutions that are cost effective and optimised for manufacturing
The Electronic Design Engineer work with -
- project manager to provide reports on status and progress to internal management and external customers
- other design engineers together with cross functional members of new product introduction teams
- external test houses and certification bodies
- colleagues to ensure successful New Product Introduction
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Good degree in Electronic Engineering or other relevant technical discipline
A high calibre candidate who has at least two years of experience in electronic hardware and embedded software design, ideally in the development of industrial products
Experience with design of analog and digital hardware for EMC
Experience of testing to EMC immunity and emissions standards
Experience of working with design of industrial instrumentation or similar products is desirable
