Our client is a global energy operator and lubricants producer.

The Role:
This is a great opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic electronics engineer to join a dynamic team and gain important on-the-job experience. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of small to large and changeable projects, and will be involved in the building of small electronic / analogue circuits, calibration instruments and will need to be able to keep records according to ISO 17025.

Job Purpose:

Product Performance provides the engineering information that differentiates client’s automotive products. Working in the Product Performance Team of the Global Fuels & Lubricants Technology (GLT) function, the Electronics and Instrumentation Engineer will report to the Senior Electronic Systems Engineer.

The post-holder will work on instrumentation and the design, building, installation and maintenance of electronic and electrical equipment. The post-holder will also provide support to the Product Performance Team.


• Design, develop and install special electronic, electrical and instrumentation systems for client-specific testing.
• Integrate test engine electronic systems into the test bed environment, including engine management systems and ancillary controls.
• Implement calibration and maintenance procedures for test equipment and instrumentation, adhering to ISO 17025 standards.
• Ensure reliable operation of all installed test systems by providing a breakdown/fault finding service for test bed control systems and other complex electronic equipment.
• Work on single and three phase electrical supplies.
• Assist with the out of hours callout service to support the 24/7 operation within Product Performance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 2 years’ experience in electronics, instrumentation and control systems in an engineering environment.
• Computer literate with expertise in desktop applications.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Desirable Criteria:
• Degree/HND or equivalent in a scientific/engineering or related discipline.
• Experience working in the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of the 17th edition IEE (Institute of Electrical Engineers) wiring regulations and their practical application.
