The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Development engineer for embedded real-time Driveline Control units used in Jaguar and Land Rover products. A great opportunity to work on the latest technology of world class off road and sports car control systems. The position is part of a team developing driveline systems for future products.
The specific responsibilities of the role include:
a) Reviewing electrical circuits for each model year / build phase.
b) Debugging vehicles
c) Vehicle and Hardware in the loop verification
d) Developing test procedures
e) Supporting electronics design reviews
f) Supporting environmental vehicle testing (overseas)
g) Supporting manufacturing during launch

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 key skills;
1. Understanding of power electronics, software development, diagnostics and the automotive control system tools.
2. Must have an EU driving licence, and have no conditions which would prohibit driving JLR company vehicles on test tracks. With a strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, able to be able to consistently perform vehicle manoeuvres for testing purposes.
3. Good problem solving techniques and skills, including experience of fault finding/system & de-bugging.
Working knowledge of vehicle communication tools and INCA/CANalyser or similar development tools Experience of Control unit testing, development & diagnostics Experience of Control unit functional requirements specification Knowledge of system engineering approaches (V lifecycle) Would consider (at a lower bid rate) a highly motivated, enthusiastic & reliable recent graduate with a sound educational background in a relevant subject & a strong interest in the automotive industry.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Relevant qualifications in Electronics, Control Systems or Automotive Engineering, (Degree preferred but not essential). Knowledge of OEM/major supplier project delivery processes. Some knowledge of Automotive Quality processes. Some knowledge of automotive functional safety (ISO26262). Some experience in customer data analysis
