The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
EMS Controls (Systems or OBD) Engineer is required to define deliver, calibrate and validate the engine management control systems for Gasoline powertrains across all vehicle programmes. Specifically PC based skills to plan, co-ordinate, execute and sign off testing programmes (Excel, Matlab, Simulink, INCA), Requirements capture, understanding and development and sign-off testing based on and driven by requirements are required. Advanced data analysis skills (analysis scripts and data mining) and automated test development are also part of this role, with the longer term aim to automate testing and sign off activity.

3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
1)Previous experience of Engine and Powertrain control systems (or similar). Demonstrate the ability to deliver automated tests and lead the development of system validation test suites.
2)Electronic control system knowledge and experience as a minimum: would suit electronics, mechatronics or software engineer as well as mechanical systems engineer.
3)Good communication, interpersonal skills and self confidence are personal qualities needed to succeed, being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.

Experience Preferred: Green Belt trained. Experience with EMS software specifications / mechanisations. Understanding of electronic control systems and EMS systems would be an advantage. Automated test programming.

Additional Information : Primarily based at Whitley but must be willing to travel to other sites (Gaydon) / Facility providers (Universities / Consultancies)
