The Role:
The Energy and CO2 efficiency specialist is part of the Utilities, Energy and Heat Transfer Delivery Group.
-To deliver energy management technical and consulting type of services incl. CO2 and energy management ; this includes process engineering solutions as well as e.g. Carbon and Energy Management Systems

- To work for RDS operating companies, joint ventures and non-shell customers as activity leader or via other parts of the P&T organisation

The Energy and CO2 efficiency specialist is expected to be able to provide:
- Assess CO2 and Energy Efficiency client improvement options and deliver solutions. This consultancy work includes site visits as well as desk studies.
- Integrate knowledge in specific process or engineering skill groups and work together with these specialists to deliver and optimal solution to the customer both from an CO2 as other drivers perspective.
- Apply pinch technology, exergy analysis and similar tools in troubleshooting existing facilities and developing new facilities with respect to especially energy and CO2 efficiency.
- Provide support to the development of across the fence energy contracts
- Support projects and other clients with CO2/energy footprint analysis and specialist support for clean development mechanisms (CO2 trading, CDM, JI, etc.)
- Giving training courses to internal and external parties.
- Guidance to technology development, design practices and procurement standards.
- Technical Assurance for projects and services within the field of energy efficiency.
- Technology development activities in this field.

The Energy and CO2 efficiency Specialist will be working within one of the Regional Energy and CO2 efficiency groups and will primarily work with:
1.Customers within Shell and non-Shell Refineries, Chemical Plants, NG/LNG Plants, E&P sites, etc
2.Group CO2, B2B and other RDS businesses.
3. Internal customers within the Shell P&T organisation (Projects and GS upstream, downstream and IRD groups) .

The Energy and CO2 specialist is expected to deliver integrated solutions, that requires apart from specific skills, a sound understanding of the processes for energy and improvement programmes and a sound understanding of the business and legislative environment in the rather dynamic field of CO2.
The specialist will work principally within one region. Other colleagues are also located in Americas and Asia Pacific Regions and development of technologies and methodologies and workload balancing will be done globally. Where appropriate this position can also contribute to activities in the utilities and heat transfer discipline outside the energy and CO2 efficiency expertise.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Energy and CO2 efficiency Specialist should preferably have an academical degree or equivalent in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and should have 3-8 years of professional experience in the oil and chemical industry or in other energy intensive industries.
The Specialist is expected to have a sound background in (process) engineering
Successful experience working as part of a team, self motivated to learn.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to listen well.
Results oriented. Customer focused

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Interest and willingness to travel is expected.
