The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Engine Development Engineer to work on the development and validation of the AJ200 (Ingenium) diesel engine programme. The validation team are responsible for mechanical development, functional verification and durability sign off as part of base engine design verification plan (DVP). The development engineer will report to the Principal Engineer for validation who is responsible for the DVP delivery.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Ability to plan and conduct engine durability and functional tests to support overall development and program requirements
2. Data analysis skills test data and ability to formally present/report on the outcome of tests.
3. High levels of personal organisation to ability to manage and prioritise multiple concurrent tasks.

Working knowledge of IC engine components and systems.
Experience within engine product development or design environment.
Demonstrate skills in test & development, with experience of combustion, performance, economy, durability of engines.
Must hold full & valid driving licence for UK use and be able to demonstrate driving skills that meet the company standard to enable use of client company vehicles.
Preferably degree qualified but not essential - if other, relevant engineering qualifications are held

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience of problem solving and quality tools (8D, Ishikawa, IS/IS NOT etc).
Service / dealer /supplier or relevant experience would also be desirable.
Experience of working with external suppliers in both the UK and abroad would be advantageous.
German Language skills would be advantageous.
Must have flexibility and willingness to travel and work between client sites and external test facilities is essential, both around the UK and Europe when required.
Flexibility and willingness to work flexible hours, including but not limited to extended weekly working hours, double day shift, night shift and weekend work where required.
